As winter weather approaches, Jackson County Road & Bridge (JCRB) reminds residents and travelers that snow removal operations typically occur from November through April, as conditions allow. County-maintained roads do not include state highways (Highways 14, 125, and 127), which are maintained by the Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT).
Snow plowing is conducted based on priority routes to ensure safe travel for the greatest number of residents, visitors, and emergency responders. Primary roads are cleared first, followed by secondary and then local access roads as resources allow. Weather conditions, snowfall, drifting, wind, and equipment availability may impact plowing schedules.
Residents are reminded that private driveways and private roads are not plowed by the County, except in emergency situations directed by public safety officials. Snow storage within County right-of-way is necessary for safe operations, and motorists are urged to observe all winter parking restrictions to avoid towing or vehicle damage.
For snow and ice related concerns on County roads or rights-of-way, contact Jackson County Road & Bridge at 970-723-4481.
Please use caution when traveling during winter weather and allow extra time for road conditions to improve.
